The Pajare or more correctly The Lamie (or Lammie) represents one of pajare variation: rural rectangular constructions made with the drywall technique and the main room featuring a barrel vault.
These isolated buildings in the countryside, have been used by farmers since the early 1900. Now they represent an iconic feature of the landscape of Salento as to be protected and promoted by local institutions. Buildings are similar to the famous Trulli.
There are several types of pajare, either for size or for methods of construction.
